Back-connect motherboards (ASUS BTF, MSI Project Zero, Gigabyte Project Stealth) move all the power connectors to the rear of the board for a clean, cable-free front. They look fantastic - but the catch is absolute: they fit only in cases specifically designed for rear-connector boards, not just any ATX case (Fractal Design support). Does the PC case affect temperatures and gaming performance?

Yes, indirectly but really. The case governs airflow, fan placement and radiator fitment, which set your CPU and GPU temperatures - and if a component gets too hot it throttles, lowering sustained clocks and frame rates. A good mesh-airflow case can run a CPU 7-9C cooler than a sealed glass 'fishtank' case with the same hardware. It won't raise your peak FPS the way a better GPU would, but it stops heat from taking performance away.

Is airflow or aesthetics more important - is mesh better than glass?
