How it works
It splits your budget the way a good gaming build should - the most to the GPU, then RAM, CPU and the rest - picks the best part it can afford in each category, then spends the leftover on the biggest upgrade that still fits. Because every part is AMD AM5 and DDR5, compatibility is guaranteed by design; the tool auto-sizes the power supply to your CPU and GPU. It's deterministic - the same budget always gives the same build - and it never returns an invalid or over-budget result.
The 2026 GPU landscape the tool picks from
The configurator weights most of your budget to the GPU, then sizes the power supply to whatever card it picks. These two charts are the reference it works from - where each current-gen card starts on price, and the supply each one needs:

How does the PC build configurator work?
You enter a maximum budget and it builds an optimized, compatible AMD gaming PC that never exceeds it. It splits your budget across the parts the way a good gaming build should (most to the GPU, then RAM, CPU and so on), picks the best part it can afford in each category, then spends any leftover on the biggest upgrade that still fits. Every part has a Change button to swap in an alternative - and the tool blocks any swap that would push you over budget or leave the power supply too small. It runs instantly in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
Are the builds actually compatible?
Yes. This v1 uses AMD AM5 parts throughout, so every CPU, motherboard and memory kit is compatible by design, and the tool automatically sizes the power supply to the GPU and CPU you pick. One thing to check yourself: very large GPUs and coolers have length/height limits in smaller cases - verify your chosen GPU fits your chosen case before buying (our case guide lists clearances).
Why is the cheapest build around $1,500?
2026's memory shortage. RAM and SSD prices roughly doubled, so a complete, currently-supported build with 32GB of DDR5 starts higher than it used to. The configurator won't pretend otherwise - if you enter less than the realistic floor, it shows you the cheapest sensible build and tells you the real number rather than cutting corners you'd regret.
Are the prices accurate?
They're approximate mid-2026 US street prices and they move week to week - especially the GPU, RAM and SSD, which the shortage makes volatile. Treat the total as a close estimate; the affiliate links go to live listings so you can check the real current price before buying.
Can I use this for an Intel build?
Not yet - v1 is AMD AM5 only, because AM5 is the value default for gaming and keeping to one platform guarantees every build is compatible. Intel Arrow Lake support is planned. For the platform decision, see our AMD vs Intel gaming guide.
